SUMMARY:Mississippi String Quartet House Concert (for details contact Marta)
DESCRIPTION:Mississippi String Quartet or MSQ was formed in 2019 when the ensemble was invited to perform the difficult Grosse Fugue by Ludvig van Beethoven for a enthusiastic patron and his many guests. The concert took place at the Old Capitol Building in Jackson\, MS. This was an unforgettable experience and we wanted to perform together more. Then pandemic was announced and we couldn’t do very much playing for a few weeks\, however nothing could keep us away from playing together for long. With a slightly different personnel we continued with MSQ by learning a beautiful\, interesting and challenging String Quartet No. 3 by Grazyna Bacewicz. We ended up recording a video with an educational component to the 3rd String Quartet by Bacewicz. You can find it on YouTube @musicalmomentswithmarta in the Mississippi String Quartet Playlist. \n“House Concert” Series was another idea that became reality in the last couple of years. We performed several fun programs in beautiful homes in the Central Mississippi region. This concert will feature Marta Szlubowska on 1st violin\, Vince Massimino on 2nd violin\, Julia Kirk on viola and Nancy Bateman on cello.
